Overview

The University of Port Harcourt is an entrepreneurial university with over 10,000 students. It is located in the city of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria

The Problem

The University of Port Harcourt operates an E-campus portal, a platform where students can view and track their academic activities

The portal is in a poor and neglected state, making it unusable and unappealing to its users (the students)

The Goal

- To create a unique design that meets students requirements and improves their experience

• To revamp the dashboard to a fresher take on the visual designs, to capture the more youthful segment of the school
• To consolidate the entire range of online academic activities into a single educational product

The Process

One of the challenges I encountered was having to scope out all the features and sort them according to their specific segments (Courses, Payment, Forms, etc.)

I approached this challenge by creating personas and meeting with real people to talk to the about how they interacted with the existing platform.

From the feedback, I was able to flesh-out the various personas and use them in creating a smoother user experience for the product

A key deliverable for the web app was to deliver a smoother, seamless, e-campus dashboard experience. That meant I had to rethink how academic activities are carried out.
